Jester

I picked this leaf up when I was taking photos of some trees for larger paintings. Brought it home and painted its dramatic portrait from life.

Live Oak Twig

One of my favorite things to do is picking up random things off the sidewalk and making studies of them. This can be done any time of the year, but is particularly rewarding in autumn.

Water Music

I 'm lucky to live close to the Dallas Arboretum and go there often to paint. In this view, I liked the way the curves of the water in the burbling fountain echo the curves in the gateway sculpture.

Rocky Beach

I have been lucky enough to make a trip to Iceland. This is one of the many memorable views from that visit. A person can really feel inner strength in a lonesome and cold place.

White Rock Elder

White Rock Lake is a wonderful oasis in the middle of Dallas. Trees surround the lake and some of them, like this one here, have been standing a long time and have weathered many storms.
