Fontaine Rose

This is a house just a few blocks from mine. The light on this day and the Italian cypress reminded me of a renaissance Annunciation painting. It's very rewarding when you closely observe even the most familiar and mundane things.

This painting was the one that started me on the Everyday Poetry series.

I enjoy painting artifacts from the past - connecting with people by observing their tools, homes, and other things that were part of their daily lives. Reenactors like dressing up in their clothes to make that connection.
